I’m not sure what is in the air lately. Our whole family has had what our doctor calls terrible Sleep Hygiene. We’re not falling asleep easily, we’re not staying asleep, and we’re not feeling well-rested in the morning. As a matter of fact, we’ve all been cranky!
I consulted my friend Lori from Strong Little Sleepers, who assured me this is a common problem this time of year. She directed me to this post which talks about some things we can do to help improve our sleep hygiene.
We’ve been trying to go through Lori’s list each night. One thing we’ve discovered has been a total game changer.
The Children’s Bedtime Sleep Meditation App.
A friend of mine had mentioned she used it with her son and I downloaded it when I was feeling desperate one night. The app itself is free. It has some free sleep meditations included in its library. Other meditations are available for $2.99.
The voices are soothing and calming. We’ve downloaded a few of the other meditations because they’re much longer than the free ones. My absolute favorite is Rays of Calm 2. The author walks you through relaxing each part of your body. It instantly relaxes us and puts us all to sleep.
