Wubble Bubble Ball – a Review

Matt and I like to joke that our kids would live outside if they could.  They sneak in a few minutes of outdoor playtime almost every day – either at the park or in our own backyard in between homework.  They’ve even been known to ride their bikes at 7:30 am.  I am sure the neighbors love us.
Playing outdoors always refreshes them and fills their soul.  I was thrilled when I was recently offered an opportunity to review a Wubble Bubble Ball.  In my eyes, it was something new that the girls could use to play outside.    I love that it was inspired by the designer’s own children’s wish to play with a large bubble.  It’s been names as a 2014 Top Toy for the Holiday Season by Target and has received numerous awards.
Our Wubble Bubble Ball came with a pump but I did not use their pump to blow it up.  It took batteries and we didn’t have any so I used our electric pump and filled it up that way.  I didn’t fill it up to the measurements at first.  Rebecca wanted to keep it smaller (perhaps so it was more her size?) and so we kept it small.
I let Rebecca play with it by herself first.  She’s 4 and she loved it.  For an hour she ran around our back yard kicking, pushing, and throwing it on the grass.  I asked her to keep it away from the swing set just in the off chance it would pop on a splinter.
When Kate (7) and Caroline (6) came home from school they had me blow up the Wubble Ball a little larger.  The two of them preferred to throw it back and forth and were surprised at how light it was and how far they were able to throw it.  I was afraid they’d be too rough with the ball (they’re not known for being very gentle) but the Wubble Ball withstood the Grum Girls.  So far.

They begged me to let them take it on the driveway or the sidewalk.  The box actually says to avoid those surfaces and so we did.  So far the Wubble Ball is still intact so that’s a success in our book.  If it does pop, Wubble Ball has a lifetime replacement guarantee that replaces the ball for $6.99.  The only thing we don’t like about it is that it needs to be blown up again each day.  It sure would make my life easier if it stayed inflated.

The Wubble Bubble Ball is available at Target, Toys R Us, Amazon, and online at www.WubbleBall.com.

Will you be adding a Wubble Ball to your holiday list?

xoxo

I was provided a Wubble Bubble Ball for review but all opinions are my own.

My girls have seen this and thought about adding it to their Christmas list, but I did not realize it has to be blown up daily – what a pain!

That's strange – we've had ours under daily use for about two weeks now and only blew it up the one time. Hmm.

I wonder if it has anything to do with the change in temperature here? It's gotten pretty cold and is routinely in the high 50s.

It looks like bubble gum. I might try it if my kids were a little younger…but I will keep an eye out for it too. The deflating is actually a bonus point to me because of easier storage…

We own one of these, it’s a perfectly fine toy. My only gripe is the pump, I don’t know if we got a faulty one but it simply does not inflate the ball that much at all. At best it’ll manage about 1 foot wide, we had to resort to using our lungs to do it in the end.
