We Scored a Big Date Night

Remember how I wrote that we suck at marriage? I’ll be honest, it took a long time for Matt and I to get good at dating each other after we had kids.  We constantly put the kids ahead of our marriage and we suffered for it.  We’re so much better at it now and actually look forward to getting out.

So when the people from www.ScoreBig.comwww.ScoreBig.com contacted me about using their website to go to an event, I jumped at the chance.  We were overdue for a good date.

I had heard commercials for ScoreBig before but didn’t know much about them beyond that.  Once I hopped onto their website and signed up, I immediately received an email explaining how it works.

Here’s some facts from ScoreBig that the company sent me:

  • You are guaranteed to save on each and every ticket on ScoreBig.com
  • Tickets for sports, concerts, theater, Broadway, family shows, and attractions
  • No fees – free delivery
  • Choose Your Seating Area – all seats ordered together will be next to each other
  • Tell us what you want to pay – you have all the control, it’s thrilling!
  • Get an instant answer – you find out right away if your offer has been accepted
I typed in Philadelphia at first and then New York City, browsing all the events.  There were thousands!  We originally thought we were going to see a show in NYC but then decided on a Phillies game.
We checked our sitter’s availability and then got online. We were able to pick the game we wanted and then chose the level of the ballpark we wanted to sit in.  You don’t specifically get to pick your section or your seats.  I wasn’t too worried because I didn’t have a specific preference of where I wanted to sit.
ScoreBig gives you an idea of what your tickets are worth and what they’re selling for.  You bid an amount that you choose and you immediately know whether or not you offer has been accepted.  If your first offer is denied you can not make another offer for that level of seating for 24 hours.  You may bid on a different level, however.

Once we placed our order, a minute later we received an email that our offer was accepted and confirming our tickers.  2 and a half minutes later we received an email letting us know that our tickets were being processed.  23 minutes later our tickets were in our email inbox.  We were able to print them out and know where our seats were.

Last Friday we went to see the Philadelphia Phillies play the Washington Nationals.  We had great seats in the outfield and were in the 3rd row.  It was prime home run territory and although Jimmy Rollins hit 2 home runs that night, neither of them were to our section.

Did you know that in another lifetime, Matt and I both worked for the Phillies?  We were newly married and both loved baseball.  We decided to get a job at the old Veterans Stadium.  I was an usher and Matt worked in security.  Every game we prayed to be in the 700 level section (bleacher seats, really) so that we didn’t have to work (that area was usually empty) and could just watch the game.  On great days we were able to work in the same section together.  We loved working there and only stopped after we worked the first 2 games at Citizens Bank Park.  The new style of ball park wasn’t as conducive to watching baseball from every spot like it was in Veterans Stadium.

ScoreBig made it really easy to have a great date night.  Their system was seamless to use and I would definitely use them again.  Come to think of it, I wouldn’t mind another baseball date…

When was the last time you went out on a date?

xoxo
