I saw these adorable wooden blocks in the Target Hot Spot section. Remember these from your childhood? Ours came in a wagon that you could pull with a string. They seemed indestructible at the time.
Anyway, I saw them and decided to buy a bunch so that I could glue the girls’ names together.
Here’s what I needed:
Wood glue and the package of blocks. I told you it was easy! If you don’t have wood glue, I am sure you could use some good old Elmer’s glue. (At various times throughout the year these blocks make an appearance at Target. They’re also available on Amazon.)
I started by getting 2 blocks I wanted to join and putting a little bit of glue on only one side. I kept adding glue to only one side of a block until all the pieces were put together. Kate’s was the easiest because it’s only 4 letters. For Caroline’s name, I joined only two blocks together at a time. When those were dry, I joined all the blocks together.
Amazingly enough, once the blocks have glue on them, all you need to is set them upright on a table or hard surface. This is to ensure that the bottom of the letters will be all even.
Kind of cute, don’t you think? The girls love saying the letters in their name and keeping them in their bedrooms, or the playroom (wherever they drag them around to). I think they’d even make a cute teacher gift at Christmas or the end of the year.
