Packaging with love

Every day I have set times when I sew.  I work on a schedule because being a Mommy is my full-time job.  I try not to take any time away from my kids but I do do some sewing when they are awake and playing.  Inevitably, they come in the dining sewing room and watch me work.  Sometimes they sit on a chair next to me and sometimes they sit on my lap.

Kate and Caroline ALWAYS ask what I am making and who I am making it for.  They ask me to tell them about the child/ children my products will go.  As a way to get the girls involved in my business, they decorate every package that goes out the door.

I have a pack of Do-A-Dot markers that the girls love to use.  Once I package up the order, I set the girls up with the markers.  They stamp polka dots all over the back of the box.

It keeps them occupied and they talk about the child that will be receiving the order while they do it.

Isn’t she cute?  What you can’t see in this picture is how she got marker all over my dining room carpet on this particular day…

See those nice yellow dots above the box?  I am hoping they’ll come out.

Whoops! At last she chose the lighter color for the carpet, LOL! LOVED my polka dotted box. Figured it was the handiwork of the girls and Chase appreciated it, too. 🙂

*least not last. Unless she has a habit of coloring on the carpet then maybe at last did make sense. 😉

She does like to color on places she shouldn't but that has slowed down. They really love getting involved!
