Opening Day of baseball!

It’s no surprise in our family that baseball is our favorite sport. We start counting down the days to pitchers & catches (reporting to spring training) after the 1st of the year. A few of my friends are getting their plans for their Fantasy Baseball season and I might join them with it this year; I will have to view website that shows me what to do but I’m confident I have enough knowledge to do well.

My Twitter friend Lindsey made the cutest shirt for her daughter, Ryann. Although the shirt was a Boston Red Sox shirt, I immediately knew I had to do the same.

Thankfully the Phillies logo is a simple one to trace and Photobucket had a great clear logo that I was able to resize. Once I had the size I wanted, I traced the logo onto freezer paper. Then I ironed the freezer paper onto my fabric and cut it out.

This was also the first time I’ve used Double Stick Fusible Web. It helped adhere the logo onto the shirt. Even though the description said it would hold without needing to be sewn on, I knew I had to sew it on or else the material would fray. I used a simple zig zag stitch.

What do you think of our little baseball fans?

?P.S.  Rebecca fell off the couch and onto the floor after the last picture was taken.  She wasn’t hurt because I caught her face in my hand, but she sure did cry!  And while she cried, Caroline told her, “There’s no crying in baseball, Rebecca.”

Caroline is too funny!! Tell me how she knew that famous line?! The expressions on their faces are priceless. Glad Rebecca wasn't hurt due to her photo op. Can't believe you have 3 BIG girls now!

Stacey, Caroline has heard Matt & I say it many times. As a matter of fact, the girls often say it to each other.

Lindsey, I am so glad you shared yours for the inspiration! Thank you!
