By now, you’ve probably read Allison Tate’s Huffington Post piece, The Mom Stays in the Picture. If not, go read it now! It’s amazing and so true.
I am NEVER in pictures with the kids.
Partly
because I am the one always taking the pictures.
Mostly
because I hate seeing pictures of myself.
And by mostly? I mean 98% of it, is that.
But you know what? What I look like right now?
That’s how they’ll remember me.
That’s how they picture me.
And most importantly, that’s how they love me.
This summer my parents celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary. As a gift, we arranged a family photo shoot with Pix-ology. The entire family consisted of 6 adults and 5 children and it was quite interesting to get us the kids arranged for a photo.
Matt & I decided that after we got the most important shots of the entire family done, we wanted to make sure we got some of our own immediate family.
Here’s what we documented:
As a testament to how much I don’t like to get my picture taken and don’t like to post my picture, this is one of a very few pictures of me on my entire website.

What a gorgeous family! My favorites? The 3 huggie-girlies. and of course The Balloon Runners. But the last picture of all of you, with your beautiful smiles (yes, you too Mom!) is a keeper as well. What a blessed woman you are.
