This is our first year where we have multiple activities on a week day night. It’s been an adjustment for us all and now I know why I avoided it for so long. On these nights where we rush around it’s extra important that I get some one on one quiet time with each of the kids. I put them all into bed and then slowly start sneaking into their rooms one at a time. We talk about what they hope to do tomorrow and whether or not there are angels always watching us. They each separately ask me if I will return to check on them before I go to bed because they know I can’t help doing it. Although these nights are busy, they are my favorite. Intentionally carving out that little piece of time is the best part of our time together.
