A little early teacher appreciation

We are in our second week of school here.  Last night I took a moment to write K & C’s teachers a little note letting them know how much the girls enjoy being a part of their class and how much we appreciate them.  I also sent them each a little box filled with my oatmeal chocolate chip cookies.

The beginning of the school year is crazy in our house.  Our kids are exhausted when they get home but don’t want to go to sleep at bedtime.  They’re missing their time outside riding bikes and playing with their toys.

For teachers the beginning of the school year is crazy because they are working on getting kids on a routine: kids who are excited to see friends they haven’t seen since last year, kids who haven’t sat still all summer, and kids who would rather be home.  It’s no picnic for them either.

I hope they know how much we appreciate their hard work.  I’ve been a teacher and while the beginning of the year is exciting, it’s definitely no picnic.

In your house, who’s happier to be back to school:  the kids or the parents?

xoxo
