This is 7

My 7 year old has always been a sensitive kid. She’s in tune with things that are going on and pays much more attention than we give her credit for.
She’s always asked questions. Questions like:
How did you meet Daddy?
How old were you when you got your ears pierced?
Did you ever get in big trouble?
Who was your favorite teacher?
Did you always like to read?

But now she’s 7. And at 7 the questions are getting harder:

Mommy, is God real?
Do we believe in God?
Why do some churches not believe in God?
Do people go to war because they don’t believe in God?
What are some other reasons that people would go to war?
Why would a policeman kill a man?
Aren’t policeman supposed to help people?
Will I ever make a policeman angry?
Can I trust them?
I answer each question the best that I can. I’m honest but only answer what is asked of me. I don’t want to overload this sensitive kid. I swear she can feel the hurt of the world around her.
