Looking to shift your parenting approach? Do you want less yelling and more happiness & connection? Let's get started! Sign up to work with me!

I’m so glad that you’ve clicked on this page so I can tell you more about who I am and what I believe.
With so many different types of parenting philosophies these days, I’ve learned that parenting is a lot more about how you want to raise your kids than it is about which practice you’ll follow.  I like to call the style I use intentional parenting.

What does intentional parenting mean?

It means that I have to make conscious decisions about how to parent.

  • This means I’m constantly making decisions on how I’ll respond to situations, how I choose to connect, and what words I’ll use when disciplining, supporting, comforting, and being with our children.
  • This means I work hard at not reacting and instead respond with thoughtful & helpful words.
  • This means I make the conscious decision to treat our children with the the same respect I would expect someone to give me and also the same respect I would give to any other adult.

You see, I was once a reactor. I would yell and scream when something happened.  If you were listening to me, it sounded like everything was an emergency.  Becoming a positive parent didn’t come easy for me. I was raised in a house of yellers who were both raised in a house of yellers. Because of that, yelling was my go-to reaction – it was hard-wired into my brain.  I had to be very intentional in my effort to change and break the yelling cycle. I have to think and respond before I react. Some days I really struggled with this change, but it did get easier every day.

How I teach

I have quite a few methods of teaching and classes that can fit your needs.

  • Parent Coaching
  • In-Person Classes and Workshops
  • Parenting Parties
  • Webinars

Your home should be a place filled with love, support, and acceptance.  In each method I give you strategies and tools for turning your home into a more enjoyable place.  When you have successfully completed the class your home will still be loud, you and your children will still get cranky, and there will probably still be sibling fights. But, you will all know how to quickly work through problems, your home will be more fun, and you’ll all be more connected.

My classes give you baby steps that build onto each other. You can pick and choose what works for your family. Use a few strategies consistently until you are ready to add more. You can’t change any habit all at once but you can change them slowly.

You’re in this for the long haul.  Changing the dynamic of your family will take time. The habits of you and your children have been engrained and it’s going to take time to create new connections in your brain to make these changes become an automatic response.

I’ll be with you every step in this journey.

I can tell you it will be worth it!
