Sundays

Sundays are definitely my most favorite day of the week. Partly because they’re predictable and partly because they’re guaranteed to have the 5 of us all doing something together.

Once we wake up, the girls do their morning “jobs” and head down for breakfast. M makes what we call BIG breakfast. Usually it’s eggs and bacon or turkey sausage but occasionally it’s pancakes but still with breakfast meat.
While we eat breakfast I do our menu plan for the upcoming week. Everyone gets to tell me what they’d like to eat and we put it on our list. We also work together to make a grocery list. Remarkably, the girls always remember things that M and I forget. They have amazing memories.
We head to church for the 9am service and then to the grocery store afterwards. Our grocery store has a child care room so all three girls go in there while M and I grocery shop. Some weeks we go upstairs first to sit and talk and go over our upcoming week. We kind of make it like a date since we don’t get too much time alone.
Once we get home and put the groceries away we head outside with the girls. K and C learned how to ride their bikes this summer and we’ve spent most of our time out there with them while they ride up and down the sidewalk.
We don’t have any nappers any more so we usually stay out there until about 4 when the girls come in to do baths. Then we snuggle up on the couch for a movie until it’s time for dinner. Sundays always mean homemade pizza with The Pioneer Woman’s pizza crust. It’s our favorite.
For me there’s nothing like snuggling up our littles on the couch to end a busy week while getting ready to face another busy one ahead.
What’s your favorite day of the week?
xoxo
